Home is where the Heart is...

Shabby days and Shabby ways...
My friend's birthday was coming up and I wanted to create a little shabby something...  being a girlie girl I thought a shabby heart would do the trick:

Gorgeously cut wooden heart, painted with a light pink and decorated with floral and spotty shabbi-ness made the gift complete.  Hand writing "Home is where the Heart is" was an effort in itself as my writing isnt the neatest in the world but it isn't that of a doctors either ;) so I gave it a bash.
All in all - hopefully I pulled it off this time...

Bird House gone Nautical

My sister asked me to make her a BirdHouse after seeing the one i posted on my blog last time.  She gave me one condition though -  it had to be Nautical in theme...

I reckon I pulled it off...

Finished and on the fence...
Now come on little birdies please make yourself welcome!

Magnolia

I wanted a garden sign for my new gate at home.  Joe and I have worked really hard to make our own fence out of old palette wood and I think its flipping marvellous!

We bought a nice gate and I wanted to spruce it up so decided to make a wooden plaque for it.  Our home isn't in the country but its the closest we are going to get so we are dressing it up how we want and making it "all" our home, garden and all.

At christmas Joe bought me a Magnolia Tree - my favourite tree - and its very special to me so I got my inspiration from that...

Birds are welcome here...

Check out my painted Bird House...

Over Easter...

Over Easter I decided to get cracking on a few garden projects, besides the boring ones: painting the garage and digging holes ;) here are a few that might interest fellow crafters...

I wanted to make some planters out of old wood and decorate them "shabby" for the front of the house.  Our front door is framed by a huge archway and on each side there is a wall of about 4 bricks in a line, perfect for welcoming visitors with plants...
Le Petit Palais... The Little Home

No need to paint in the side because the planter pot I have fits perfectly inside - made to measure ;)... so I can pull it in and out to change the plants and water and only the edging of the planter is seen.
I have however exterior varnished everything I have made for the great outdoors!

Made to Measure...

I was asked by a lovely lady at work to make her a "home sweet home" plaque.  The design was left up to me but there was one condition, it had to incorporate the colour - Maroon!
